By harnessing the expertise and passion of teachers and students around the country, Classroom Earth will provide high school teachers and students with the resources they need to integrate environmental education into their schools and communities. Through experiential learning, students will be empowered to take positive action to improve the environment now, in college, and as future leaders in their workplaces and communities.

Planet Connect, a program of Classroom Earth, targets high school youth in an effort to increase student engagement in environmental learning, stimulate interest in environmental careers, and learn how to protect the environment. Planet Connect was developed with input from a diverse group of students from around the country who have helped to design the Planet Connect Web site, www.planet-connect.org and the Planet Connect High School Grants.
Planet Connect High School Grants are for students with an idea to make a difference in their school or community. The on-line application can be found at www.planet-connect.org. Applications are due on January 20, 2009.
Classroom Earth is made possible with a generous contribution from The Weather Channel.
The National Environmental Education Foundation is exceptionally grateful to the Mitsubishi Corporation Foundation for the Americas for their generosity and sponsorship of the Classroom Earth web site for the past 6 years and continued support of NEEF and its programs.
