New Web Based Environmental Education Program in Development
Classroom Earth, through a generous contribution from the Weather Channel and the Landmark Communications Foundation, will be an interactive, web-based environmental education program.
Designed to, ultimately, reach and impact 20 million American high school students over the next five years. View the press release.

"We've seen a real surge in interest," said Karen Heys, senior director of the foundation's educational programs. "A lot of people are thinking and talking about environmental topics lately and teachers want to respond to what's happening today."
Despite rain and chilly weather thousands gathered on the National Mall for Earth Day 2008. Tracy Adams, program associate, National Public Lands Day, is quoted in The Washington Post's coverage of Earth Day, Raining on Her Parade (Monday, April 21, 2008).
